The death toll from Saturday morning’s collision at MacLeod Trail and 90th Avenue Southeast is now up to two.
Police say a second pedestrian, a 24-year-old man from Calgary, died from his injuries after two people crossing 90th Avenue were hit by a northbound car.
The other person hit, a woman, died shortly after arriving at hospital.
Duty Insp. Craig Skelton said what investigators have determined so far.
“Part of what we’ve discovered is that the pedestrians were crossing at a crosswalk and it appears that they were walking against the walk light,” he said.
Police believe speed may have been a factor in the crash, but alcohol is not.
It’s not clear if charges will be laid.
