Alberta Premier Alison Redford docked at North Glenmore Park Sunday.
She made an appearance at the Dragon Boat Race and Festival at North Glenmore Park.
She gave some remarks praising the event for its donations going to charities such as the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta and breast cancer research.
“When I think about everything that has happened in our lives and the way that these terrible circumstances sometimes touch us, it’s wonderful for us to be able to come out today to celebrate as Albertans and Calgarians and to support each other,” she said.
This year’s festival grew to 37 boats from 28 in 2011 and the festival wraps up at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
