We’re learning more about how a Sundre woman wanted in connection with a vicious dog attack was arrested.
Cpl. Ryan Hodge says Rita Phillip called into police using a cell phone.
She identified herself and then hung up.
“The police were able to call that number back,” Cpl. Hodge explains, “and we spoke to a third party who said Miss Phillip was at a casino in the northeast area of Calgary.”
Phillips has been charged with aggravated assault after her two dogs attacked a 26-year-old woman.
The victim remains in hospital in stable condition, but will likely remain there for some time.
One of the dogs involved in the incident has tested negative for rabies.
Police say the dog was put down, and the other remains in custody.
