Hundreds of police officers and emergency personnel from across Canada are gathering in High River to honour a fallen peace officer.

Rod Lazenby was killed August 10th after going to a residence in Calgary to investigate a dog complaint.

The 62-year-old retired Mountie was in charge of enforcing by-laws in the M.D. of Foothills.

Two weeks ago, he was investigating a dog complaint at a property south of Calgary.

A 46-year-old man who lived on the property is charged with first-degree murder in Lazenby’s death.
