If you’re taking a drive to the mountains this weekend, you might want to stop at Castle Mountain Resort for their one-day Huckleberry Festival this Saturday.

The main mountain is home to thousands of bushes, so bring a big bucket to pick your own and ride the ski lift to get to them.

The resort’s Andrew Rusynyk tells 660News, the berry has a neat flavour to it and tastes like a cross between a Saskatoon berry and a blueberry with both a tartness and a sweetness to it.

The resort will also host a pancake breakfast, lunch and even their famous  community pig roast.

There will also be live entertainment, a silent auction and local crafters will be selling their creations.

Castle Mountain is a 2.5 hour drive southwest of Calgary.
