A former Calgary medical researcher convicted of killing his wife is now a free man, but he’ll be forced to leave Canada.
Shengjun An was convicted of manslaughter in 2010 and has been serving a five-year sentence.
The 46-year-old scientist became enraged after returning home one night to find his wife had cheated on him.
An’s wife, Yanrong Cheng, suffered a fatal head injury when her husband struck her and she hit her head on the concrete floor.
Parole means An will be deported back to China in nine days.
