A new poll says six in 10 Canadians don’t want a Chinese company to take over one of Canada’s biggest oil and gas producers.
CNOOC Ltd. has offered $15.1-billion for control of Calgary-based Nexen.
The takeover is the largest ever proposed by a Chinese company.
The deal still has to be approved by the federal government before it becomes official.
According to The Calgary Sun, many Canadians want Harper to tell the Chinese they can’t have a chunk of the oilsands.
