Calgary police have charged 20-year-old Byron Blanchard with second-dregree murder in the death of an 18-year-old man in the city’s southeast.

Tuesday morning, Joshua Hogarth’s lifeless body was found lying outside a condo complex in the community of Acadia.

Hogarth’s mother, Debbie, says there are no words to describe how she is feeling, and she’s still reeling from the news.

She says she heard Joshua yelling at someone over the phone just hours before he was found dead, and that he went to meet the person he was arguing with.

A Facebook page has been set up in his memory, where many are expressing their sadness.

“Rest in peace my wonderful cousin. I am so proud to call you family Josh. You will always be loved and missed so much. Love you.”

“Josh, you were always a lovable, charming guy. You made anyone feel comfortable and knew how to put a smile on someone’s face. You have touched everyone’s life. RIP josh.”
