A family in the northeast is looking for somewhere else to sleep after a fire ripped through their home late Wednesday afternoon.

Battalion Chief Ernie Molineaux tells 660News, crews were called to Templevale drive just after 5:30 p.m. to reports of a shed fire, when they arrived, flames had already spread to the garage and the home.

He says the blaze was out within 45 minutes, the garage was completely destroyed but crews managed to contain the fire to the attic of the home, but due to water damage, nobody will be able to live there for some time.

He says eight people were in the home at the time of the fire, but nobody was injured and the cause is under investigation.
