Calgary Police are in the process of tracking down a person of interest following an overnight shooting.

Officers were called to the northeast community of Martindale after receiving reports of shots fired.

Duty Inspector Craig Skelton tells 660News, CPS was on the scene in the 600 Block of Martindale Boulevard within minutes just before 1:00a.m. Monday morning.

The woman shot is expected to recover and is in stable, non-life threatening condition in hospital. There’s no word on where she was shot but authorities are expected to release more information Monday afternoon.

Police are also investigating another violent incident which happened over the weekend.

A man is suffering from serious stab wounds in hospital after being stabbed in the leg at 1st Avenue and 7th Street Southwest.

Officers have yet to track down those responsible for the knifing, which happened just before 6:30p.m. Sunday evening.

Anyone with information on either crime is asked to call police.
