It can be challenging to put together a healthy breakfast kids will want to eat, so the Heart and Stroke Foundation is out with some tips.
A registered dietitian with the foundation, Carol Dombrow said be creative and plan ahead.
“Boil eggs the night before and pair up with apple slices and whole grain toast,” Dombrow said.
She also suggests looking in the fridge for leftovers.
“If you had whole wheat pasta for dinner the night before, you can warm it up for breakfast the next day.” she said. “The nutrition doesn’t change.”
Also, cut up fruit the night before so it is ready to serve and if you have time, bake up some muffins and freeze them.
