If you’re not a native Canadian and you break the law, don’t expect to call the great white north home for long.
The Canada Border Service Agency reports it shipped Tien Ngoc Ho to Vietnam earlier this month.
His deportation was ordered back in 2011, after he was convicted of 26 firearms offences.
Lisa White with the CBSA said this removal underscores the agency’s position that our doors are not open to those who break laws.
“This person is permanently barred from returning to Canada,” she said. “While the sentence is being served, we go through the process of seeking a removal order for them and trying to demonstrate and prove that the person is no longer admissible to Canada because of these criminal offences.”
He was handed a six-year jail sentence and was in detention until he was escorted out of the country on August 13th.
