A Calgary hotel is the latest victim in a string of petty crimes happening across the country.
Police believe a group of thieves are funding a cross-country trip by breaking into a specific type of Pepsi vending machines and making off with the coins.
The thieves began their soft drink machine binge in Nova Scotia two months ago and most recently hit 10 machines on various floors of a Calgary hotel.
Edmonton police tell The Calgary Sun, almost $2,000 in coins was taken from two Edmonton area hotels last weekend.
