A momma bear and cub were spotted near the Glenmore Reservoir Friday morning and officials are asking people not to visit the area.
Fish and Wildlife officer Tom Biglin says signs are going up in Glenmore Park, warning outdoor enthusiasts about the danger.
“First of all, because we know that we’ve had a report of one down there, though it is unconfirmed, if people can avoid going down there for awhile. If they are going to be going down there I would highly recommend they take bear spray with them, just on the off chance they get between the momma bear and the cub,” said Biglin.
He says if you do venture into that area with a dog, make sure the dog is on a leash!
Biglin adds there could be bear sightings in that area for a few weeks.
