It’s a stinky time of year again in the city.

Calgary’s skunk population is out on the prowl, taking advantage of warm summer nights looking for food.

One owner of a pest control company tells The Calgary Sun he’ll likely trap about 70 skunks around the city, while another company is expected to catch around 300.

There isn’t an increase in the creatures but it’s this time of year the young ones break away from their families.

Thousands of the creatures roam the city and people are reminded to secure compost and store pet food inside to attract fewer skunks.
