After a brutal wind and hail storm earlier this week that caused a metal road sign to plunge onto Deerfoot Trail, provincial inspectors are checking out other signs along the highway.
A video of the sign falling to the ground near the 32nd Avenue N.E. exit on southbound Deerfoot during the 100 km/hr winds taken by a car passenger has gone viral on the internet.
Critics are now concerned about the 24 other signs built in similar style.
According to The Calgary Herald, engineers are looking at whether the stability of the metal frame had been compromised or if they weren’t designed to withstand such fierce winds.
