A few tense moments at the Calgary Humane Society building late Wednesday afternoon after it was evacuated over a chemical spill.
About 25 staff and volunteers were forced out around 5:30 p.m. after an employee spilled a small amount of formaldehyde.
The fire department’s Ernie Molineaux tells 660News the spill was contained quickly and firefighters removed the product from the premises.
Two people were treated on scene by EMS. The building was ventilated and employees went back to work
The fire department says the animals inside the building were not in any danger during the incident.
