TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police have charged a man with fraud over $5,000 in connection with a lottery ticket scam.

Police allege Bonkey Ochelebe, 40, mailed potential victims were mailed scratch-style lottery tickets, which indicated they had won hundreds of thousands of dollars.

However, in order to collect the prize, they had to deposit some of their own money in another account, and people who did that never ended up seeing any winnings.

Police are warning the public there could be any number of victims who have been targeted.
