Three Canadian cities have again cracked the top five on a ranking of the world’s most liveable places; for the second year in a row, Calgary grabbed the 5th spot.

The Economist Intelligence Unit’s report ranks Vancouver as Canada’s most liveable city and the 3rd overall; Toronto ranks 4th worldwide, just ahead of Calgary.

The only other Canadian city to make the list was Montreal, coming in at number 16.

The report surveys 140 locations around the world to assess the best or worst living conditions, judged on political stability, healthcare, culture and environment, and education.

The most liveable city in the world is Melbourne, Australia, while the least inhabitable is Dhaka, Bangladesh.
