The spotlight continues to shine on spending at Alberta Health Services after the scandal involving former top exec Allaudin Merali.

The Calgary Herald has totaled travel expenses from the past year for eight top executives at more than $190,000.

AHS CEO Dr. Chris Eagle’s expenses include a nearly $9,000 membership for Edmonton’s Royal Glenora Club and $111 for an iPad case.

The chair of the AHS board says all these expenses are satisfactory and the top executives do need to travel to all parts of Alberta.

The reports do reveal some belt tightening, with one executive taking the ‘Red Arrow’ between Calgary and Edmonton about a dozen times, and having lunch at A&W for less than $10.
