Families can be seen playing on the shores of Sylvan Lake, rather then drunk partiers, thanks to a community bylaw passed by the town three years ago.
Along with a $20-million boost to revitalize the lakefront, Mounties and residents of the lake community tell The Calgary Herald they’ve noticed the atmosphere has changed into a more family friendly environment.
The community standards bylaw comes with a hefty fine for people caught drinking, fighting and even swearing in public.
