Many are using the word aggressive to describe 46-year-old Trevor Kloschinsky, the man accused of killing M.D. of Foothills peace officer Rod Lazenby this weekend.
The Calgary Sun reports Kloschinsky was barred from the Alberta Kennel Club for his aggressive behaviour several years ago, with one member saying he could be intimidating and was well-known for his attitude.
The president of the Calgary Kennel and Obedience Club said he would go to their meetings and take over, making the get-together all about him.
The Herald reports before living on his Priddis property, Kloschinsky lived on another rural home in Turner Valley, but it was shut down by Alberta Health Services in 2009 because it was uninhabitable.
Conditions included lack of potable water, exposed electrical outlets, cracked walls, an unsecured septic tank lid and mould in multiple rooms.
A former landlord actually had to go to court to get Kloschinsky evicted from the acreage west of Turner Valley because of barking dogs at all hours.
Kloschinsky would also reportedly go into the Priddis Cafe and Grill to use the phone and scream at the municipal district about his dogs.
One dog breeder asked how he could possibly care for the over 30 dogs reported to have been on his property.
When it comes to those dogs, they are now being treated by the Alberta SPCA, an organization familiar with Kloschinsky, receiving many complaints in recent months.
Kloschinsky now faces a single count of first-degree murder.
Police say the charge is based on the totality of the circumstances and the evidence known so far.
Lazenby was called to Kloschinsky’s rental property, the Tangled Spur Ranch in Priddis Friday, following a call regarding numerous dogs.
But he was later dropped off at the District 8 office with critical injuries and rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
It’s alleged Kloschinsky drove him there in Lazenby’s bylaw SUV.
An autopsy has been set for Monday, the same day Kloschinsky will make his first court appearance.
Along with being a former RCMP officer, the Herald reports Lazenby also posed as a mobster back in 2002 to help solve a 1980s killing.
He leaves behind a wife and daughter.
