A new study suggests British Columbia would see the biggest gains from controversial pipelines through their province.

According to the Canadian Energy Research Institute, B.C. would rake in about half of what the two pipelines would contribute to the country’s G.D.P. over the next 25 years.

And with much of the pipelines running through B.C, they would also see the highest employment impact, with almost $3-billion paid out to employees in a quarter century period.

B.C. officials, argue they deserve a fairer share of revenues suggesting they’re assuming all of the marine risks involved.

Alberta Premier Alison Redford disagrees.

Alberta stands to gain more than any other province from the development of the pipelines seeing about $586-billion from oil sands royalties by 2035.
