Two of the ten victims hurt when a Stampede midway ride fell apart two years ago have launched multi-million dollar lawsuits.
In July of 2010, one of the arms of the ‘Scorpion’ fell off in the middle of the ride sending the teens to hospital with varying degrees of injury.
The lawsuits have been filed by 13 and 14 year old friends and their mothers and seeks nearly five million dollars for injuries, expenses, trauma and personal income loss.
The Calgary Herald reports the lawsuits which were filed in July, name North American Midway Entertainment, the Calgary Stampede and the City of Calgary.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
