A close call for some people in a home in the community of Monterey Park.

Police say just after 9 p.m., a vehicle slammed into a residence in the 2700 block of Catalina Blvd. N.E. after racing another vehicle.

No one was injured in the home, but the house was significantly damaged.

Two people in the vehicle were not seriously hurt and were treated by EMS at the scene.

Charges are pending against the driver.
