Lethbridge Police issues a public warning in regard to the release of a federal inmate.

37-year-old George Alexander Wawia was released from custody Friday after serving a three and a half year sentence at the Drumheller Penitentiary for assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon, threats to cause death or bodily harm and breach of a recognizance.

The offences took place in Lethbridge.

Wawia is considered a violent offender and is considered a high risk to re-offend.

Wawia will be living in Lethbridge and is bound by multiple conditions.
