It’ll be the 10th consecutive year for the “Heritage Walking Tour of Okotoks.”

The tour starts at 2:00 p.m. Saturday and will give people the opportunity to share stories of the people, landscapes and historic buildings in the town’s downtown core.

Volunteer Karen Peters with the Okotoks and District Historical Society tells 660News, the tour demonstrates how the town started.

“We start in the old town Okotoks and take them to some of the old buildings and tell them about the early business people and inhabitants of the town. There are stories and where they lived just to give them a feel of Okotoks and how it all started,” says Peters.

Peters adds they conduct one or two of the tours every summer, which have included between 5 and almost 40 participants.

The tour is hosted by the Okotoks and District Historical Society.
