It was the night one relief pitcher from Calgary has waited for his whole life.
After 10 years in the Minor Leagues, Jimmy Henderson, a former Okotoks Dawgs pitcher, made his Major League Baseball debut at Miller Park in Milwaukee Thursday night.
The 29-year-old was called to duty in front of the hometown fans, pitching one perfect inning, needing only nine pitches to end the top of the sixth inning.
While the Brewers went on to record an 8-2 loss to the Washington Nationals, Henderson struck out his first player in the Bigs, and becomes the second Canadian on the Brewers staff.
