A few anxious moments for residents in northwest Calgary Tuesday night.

Police were called to the community of Hawkwood just after six o’clock after someone reported a person with a machine gun.

It was later determined three teens ranging in age from 14 to 16 were brandishing two air pistols and an air assault rifle.

Police say charges will not be laid but the kids and their parents were reminded about how sensitive something like this is given the recent shootings in Toronto and Colorado.
