Rising water levels along the Athabasca River northwest of Edmonton have forced the evacuation of the Sagitawah RV park.

RCMP have been called in and have relocated residents to nearby Whitecourt.

A flood watch has been issued for the area by Alberta Environment and includes the communities of Athabasca, Barrhead and Woodlands.

The area has recently received close to 100 millimetres of rain.

A high streamflow advisory is also out for Big Lakes, Birch Hills County, Grande Prairie County, Greenview, Smoky River and parts of Central Alberta.
