It’s one of the more scenic provincial parks in Alberta, but visitors traveling to Writing-On-Stone — near the Alberta-Montana border — are being told not to wade or swim in the Milk River.
Testing has turned up high levels of fecal coli-form.
If ingested, the water can lead to troubles in the digestive system. The contaminated water can also cause skin, ear and eye infections.
At this point there is no indication when the advisory might be lifted.
