A car took a wrong turn and crashed into a southwest Calgary home early Saturday morning.  No one was at the home at the time.

Duty Inspector Paul Stacey tells 660News the Honda Civic drove right through the intersection at Oakfield Drive and Palliser Drive, through a resident’s garage and hit the house.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free a woman trapped in the vehicle.

She suffered apparently non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe speed and alcohol were both major factors in the crash.

Charges are pending.

There was major damage to the garage of the home but not to the main structure itself.
