The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is probing a deadly police shooting east of Edmonton.

RCMP officers shot and killed a 43-year-old man Wednesday night after getting called to a rural home northeast of the town of Vegreville.

The initial call was for a man who was apparently armed with a gun with at least three family members at the home.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team was called, but before it got there a uniformed officer opened fire.

ASIRT says a shotgun was recovered at the scene.

This is the second deadly police shooting in Alberta this week.  Sunday night in Lethbridge, officers shot and killed a man.
