An investigation is being launched by the provincial Information and Privacy Commissioner into the fire at Shaw Court on July 11th, which led to telecommunications chaos.
Service Alberta, Alberta Health, Alberta Health Services, and ATB Financial were sent offline by the fire and Commissioner Jill Clayton is looking into the management and security of personal information.
The inquest will examine the safeguards public companies, health services and businesses had in place to protect personal and health information.
It will also consider measures taken by these organizations to protect information while restoring systems.
The report will be published to develop guidelines for any future emergencies.
