That brand new building that’s popped up in Calgary’s northwest is the new home of golf in Alberta.
The PGA of Alberta hosted a community pancake breakfast in Mount Pleasant Tuesday to celebrate the grand opening of their permanent new home.
(We’re) “very excited to have a final official home for our folks to work in,” Canyon Meadows Head Pro Josh Gardner tells 660News, “so they can grow the game of golf here in the city of Calgary and the province of Alberta. Now we own a place that we can call our home and we can keep it for years and years and years. You should see this place. It’s got some great decorations and … a Hall of Fame, and history to it, and it’s a very cool location. So we’re very excited to have an official home.”
Alberta is a golf crazy province and those who work in the industry are ecstatic to have a new base to work from.
“We have 400 people that work throughout the province of Alberta,” adds Gardner. “But as far as golfers go, there’s a lot. Alberta is very strong. You know the golf courses are very high in demand here when the weather’s nice like we’re experiencing now. They’re all very busy because people are trying to get out there and play.”
The PGA of Alberta’s new digs are located at 23rd Avenue and 4th Street Northwest.
