A Calgary family is shaken up after a their van side-swiped an SUV southwest of the city.

Their eastbound minivan was hit by an oncoming vehicle that witnesses say crossed the centre line at around 7:40 p.m. Sunday night.

The impact caused the van carrying five people to roll onto its roof resting in the middle of highway 22 near the intersection of Priddis Valley Road.

The driver of the van was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Constable Tom Christie tells 660News the westbound SUV ended up in the ditch and its driver was not hurt.

There were no other injuries and RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
