Police do not believe a home invasion in the northeast Sunday afternoon was random.
Around 1:00 p.m., at the home in the 3700 block of 44th Avenue, a man went into the residence spraying bear mace in one of the rooms, where two guests were.
It’s not clear where the homeowner was.
One guest was sprayed and able to escape, and another was stabbed and transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Duty inspector Paul Malchow said the crime is part of a disturbing trend.
“We’re finding using bear spray or bear mace, whatever you want to call it, pepper spray, we’re finding more and more incidents of that occurring, where it’s much more readily available,” he said.
Police aren’t sure what the motive is and have no suspect at this time.
