The onslaught of polls ahead of the April 23rd provincial election has begun, with two recent surveys offering different results.
A Forum Research poll Published in The Calgary Sun says if an election was held today, Danielle Smith and her Wildrose Party would form a majority government capturing 55 of the 87 seats up for grabs.
Premier Alison Redford and her Tories would be relegated to the opposition bench, winning only 22 seats, down from the 66 they held prior to the dissolving of the legislature.
The President of Forum Research Lorne Bozinoff tells 660News the Wildrose Party certainly has the most momentum with support for leader Danielle Smith on the rise, while backing for Premier Redford and her PC’s is stagnant at best.
Meanwhile, a Leger Marketing poll in The Calgary Herald suggests the Tories and Wildrose are pretty much locked in a dead heat.
It suggests the Tories can still win big, but the party needs to win over the huge number of undecided voters.
