Distracted driving could be to blame for a car crash causing injuries Saturday afternoon.
Duty inspector Paul Stacey said around 4:00 p.m., a woman and her two young children were travelling southbound on Sarcee Trail, approaching Bow Trail.
Their vehicle was going about the speed limit at the time of the crash.
“For some inexplicable reason, all of a sudden veered off the road and slammed hard into a light standard, causing significant damage,” he said.
Stacey said the mother and her young children were transported to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
He added there’s some indication the woman may have been reaching for her cell phone, veering off the road and hitting the light standard.
