There’s going to be some Calgary flavour on the upcoming season of Top Chef Canada.

Thirty-year-old Xavier Lacaze, executive chef of Muse in Kensington, will be displaying his culinary expertise on the reality show.

Lacaze was born in France and moved to Calgary three years ago.

In total, 16 competitors are vying for the grand prize of $100,000.

The competition is judged by chef and restauranteur, Mark McEwan, as well as LA restaurateur, Shereen Arazm.

There will be a number of guest judges this season, including Mike Holmes, Toronto Maple Leaf forward Colby Armstrong, actor Alan Thicke and country music star Johnny Reid.

The new season of Top Chef Canada premieres March 12th on Food Network Canada.
