A recent survey from Accountemps suggests almost 40 per cent of workers say it’s more challenging to manage their workloads at this time of year.
Accountemps vice president Ashleigh Demulder says the problem is people try to do too much.
Demulder says people need to prioritize both their work and personal lives and when possible, delegate, adding don’t be afraid to ask for help.
She also suggests some of those social obligations like Christmas luncheons or cocktails be moved to the New Year.
“Christmas is going to happen whether your ready or not,” says Demulder so make the best of it and concentrate on the time you get to spend with family and relatives.
The holidays are a time of increased eating, drinking and socializing, some U.S. studies suggests it’s also a peak time for heart attacks.
Doctors recommend people put time aside over the holidays to sleep and exercise.
