33 per cent of Canadians say one of their top priorities for the country is cracking down on gun, gang and drug crimes.
The Nanos survey polled over 1,200 Canadians last month and Nik Nanos tells 660News one reason that Canadians may have made crime and violence a priority is because of a very recent black eye on the country.
“We have to remember that we’ve just had a riot in Vancouver and it’s quite possible that concern about violence and crime could be a little higher in the short term right now just because of that particular incident,” says Nanos.
He adds other popular issues Canadians mentioned are strengthening Canada’s economic union with 26 per cent calling that an issue and 22 per cent say improving food and product safety regulations is important to them.
