Do Torontonians want another election?

TORONTO, Ont. – Recent polls have shown that most Canadians do not want another election.

Many Torontonians expressed frustration about the idea of another trip to the polls after the vote of non-confidence was passed 156-145 on Parliament Hill, Friday.

One man at Yonge and Bloor told 680News he is tired of going to the polls and predicts especially low voter turnout this time around. “We keep going over and over it. You’re not getting any change, you’re not getting anywhere. I think you’ll get less people showing up”

Others expressed apathy over the idea of wasting the energy to exercise their democratic right.

“I’m kind of on the fence on whether I want to vote because I wonder if it makes a difference if I vote.”

Many people told 680News the $300-million price tag that comes with another election just is not worth it.

“The outcome is going to come out the same. It’s just going to be spending our money and spending our time. It’s going to be of no value,” one man told 680News.

However one woman said, regardless of the candidates, she plans on heading out to cast her ballot.

“It’s our democratic privilege to choose our leaders even though sometimes it seems like there’s not such a great choice.”

This election will mark the fourth time in seven years Torontonians have headed to the polls.
