BC Paralympics torch heads to Squamish, BC

The Paralympic torch is headed to Squamish, British Columbia today after visiting Victoria.

BC premier Gordon Campbell was among the hundreds looking on as man-in-motion Rick Hansen took the torch at the BC legislature.

Relay director Jim Richards says although crowds for the Paralympic torch relay are smaller than for the Olympic torch, the key thing is that disabled torch-bearers have a chance to share their stories.

The torch heads from Squamish to Whistler and eventually back to Vancouver for Friday’s opening ceremonies.
