Let the Parliamentary games begin

A two-month break for federal politicians comes to an end Wednesday.

Members of Parliament will be back in their seats at the minority conservative government delivers a throne speech that will be followed by the tabling of a budget on Thursday.

The Leader of the Official Opposition Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff says he has no intention of toppling the government.

Ignatieff says his party won’t hold up the budget saying he wants to be part of the solution when it comes to turning around the economy and getting people back to work.

University of Windsor Political Scientists Cheryl Collier tells 660News she expects some very heated exchanges between the Prime Minister and the Opposition.

Collier says while the budget will get most of the attention, the government also has some explaining to do when it comes to the handling of detainees in Afghanistan.
