USA Today sports columnist weighs in on 2010 Games

One American sports columnist, on behalf of our neighbours to the south, congratulates Canada on a successful Olympics in beautiful Vancouver.

USA Today writer Christine Brennan tells CTV, she’s impressed with Canada’s participation and medal wins as Canada came on strong in the second week after a tough first week.

Meanwhile, Brennan says the embarrassment for Russia is great, not just at figure skating, but at other venues where they did not do as well.

She adds Canadians know how to throw a good party, perhaps a little too well, judging by the revellers on downtown streets near Robson Square, wishing police and organizers had been able to set up perimeters to contain the massive crowds.

Brennan goes on to say, the IOC had picked a moderate climate and were aware of weather-related risks for alpine events on Cypress Mountain.
