Bronconnier proud of Alberta’s battle against climate change

Calgary’s mayor believes more could be done to promote Alberta’s efforts to battle greenhouse gas emissions.

The comments come following an open letter to Canadians from Premier Ed Stelmach that appeared in Canadian newspapers.

The letter defended our oilpatch, and said our emissions legislation leads the country.

Mayor Dave Bronconnier says he would like to see a multi-pronged approach, so that people both here in Canada and overseas could see the work Alberta is doing.

Bronconnier tells 660News we have to make sure we get our story out, because members of the international community look to Alberta for leadership in battling greenhouse gases.

The mayor says we have a lot to be proud of, like our green grid system, and the largest carbon capture project in the world.
